In order to support our Consumer Link Department we are looking for a:
Consumer Insight Specialist (m/f) (temporary, 12 - 24 months parental leave replacement)
to start asap.
Tasks:
- Lead and manage consumer understanding activities within Nestlé R&D in Singen for the different business areas
- Assure that science and technology driven innovation and renovation is matching consumers´ needs and desired product experience in alignment with identified Strategic Business Unit / business strategy and innovation roadmaps
- Spread a more consumer centric focus into the organization via day by day work with technologists on approved projects, organizing ad hoc consumer understanding sessions for the colleagues and providing a consumer / commercial perspective in a science / technology based environment
- Act as translator between the marketing / business as well as the science and technology environment to extract relevant consumer insights and create in return relevant product ideas
- Collaborate with Strategic Business Units and Businesses in consumer research projects aimed at understanding consumer motivations, attitudes and habits for a given product category and act as the facilitator with Nestlé R&D Singen product developers sharing all the relevant information / understanding
- In the pre-stage and stage-gate innovation process, work with Strategic Business Units and Businesses to define the benefit area (what a new product or service will give to the consumer to answer to the insight) and the reason why
(attributes / technology coherent with the benefit) for new concepts, assuring Research and Development people understanding and expertise is leveraged
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions in Nestlé R&D Singen in order to generate insights and to translate Corporate Identity
into ideas / product concepts
- Assure that consumer insight and benefit are integrated over the whole product design / development process
- Collaborate closely with the development teams to set up qualitative and quantitative consumer research from product design, prototype development to final product validation
Profile:
- University degree in food science, food technology, food engineering or in commercial / psychology studies or
similar with specialization in consumer research
- Minimum 3 years Experience in marketing research agencies
- Experience in moderation and analysis of focus groups and interviews
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Fluency in English and German mandatory (written and spoken), other languages are a plus
