Members of the team work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary and international environment. The role of the three offices and their more than 100 Canada based and locally-engaged staff is to develop the relationship between Canada and Germany across a number of areas. The Consulate of Canada in Dusseldorf is currently seeking a:
Receptionist and Consular Assistant (m/f/d)
Under the general supervision of the Consular Officer and the Consul, the incumbent provides general and consular services information to visitors to the Consulate as well as administrative and reception support. The incumbent controls access to the Consulate and directs telephone, email, mail, and fax inquiries as appropriate. The incumbent also inputs passport application data into an internal Software, supports the Consular Officer and acts as back-up to the Administration and Consular Assistant during the absence of the Consular Officer.
The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and indeterminate. The starting salary is 2,737 EUR gross per month plus benefits, which include 30 days of vacation per calendar year, a 13th salary and an employer contribution to a private pension plan.
Essential qualifications include oral and written fluency in English and German and a good oral and reading comprehension of French. The ideal candidate has at least a Mittelschule or Realschule degree, or equivalent, and experience in working with the public.
